Updating your OCOL/PRiS Dial-Up Settings

PRiS has many of the same services that you previously enjoyed with OCOL.  If you previously had the OCOL browseblast service, you will be happy to know that we also provide a
Dial-Up accelerator service, we call it the PRiS XLRator.  Please click on the link and let us know if you would like to add this feature to your account.  PRiS has a full webmail system (webmail.pris.ca) for checking your email.   You can also call in using our Toll-Free PRiS Express Mail service to check your email
if you are in another town.  The number works anywhere in North America.  The number is 1-888 685-6245, you are limited to 10 minutes/day on this line.  PRiS also uses the latest methods of spam and virus filtering which can be customized through the webmail site.

Updating your OCOL/PRiS Dial-Up Settings

  1. Click the Start button, then select Control Panel.
  2. If your Control Panel lists Pick a category at the top, please click the Network and Internet Connections link, then click Network Connections.   If your Control Panel is using the Classic view, simply open the Network Connections control panel.
  3. Right-Click the OCOL icon under the Dial-up section.
  4. Click Properties button.
  5. Change the Phone Number to one of the following for your area
  6. Enter the PRiS phone number for the town you'll be dialing into, then click Next:

  8. Please insure that you are not dialing-long distance, PRiS will not be held liable for any long distance charges you might incur.
  9. Under the Networking tab, please un-check the File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks.  Failure to do this could result in other people on the Internet having access to your files.
  10. Click the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) entry to highlight it.
  11. Click Properties button.
  12. Select Obtain an IP address automatically.

    Select Use the following DNS server addresses: and enter the following:
  13. Click OK twice to return to the Control Panel.
  14. If you would like you can rename your OCOL Connection to PRiS by right-clicking on your OCOL Icon and left clicking rename.  Type PRiS and press enter.
  15. You can now try  dialing your new PRiS/OCOL connection.  You will need to change your username and password to the ones provided by us.  PRiS Usernames are only the first portion of your email address.  If your OCOL username was "john@ocol.com", your new PRiS username would just be "john".  We are trying to keep your username and passwords the same, if it doesn't work give us a call so we can confirm your settings.
